The 6th annual Miami Valley Pet Therapy Association Howl-o-Ween fundraiser will be held October 15th, 2011 at Indian Riffle Park in Kettering.
Registration begins at begins at 9:30 that morning (all walkers receive a goodie bag and a free lunch after the walk). The walk begins at 11:05 AM (after the blessing of the animals); this is a comfortable two mile walk through beautiful Indian Riffle Park in Kettering. This is a win-win for everyone – a fundraiser for the mvPTA and a great opportunity for exercise and socialization for both you and your dog! You can even dress your dog in his or her favorite Halloween costume.
In fact, there will be a costume parade and competition at 12:30 with special guest judges and prizes for best dog and owner costumes.
There will be many vendors and rescues on hand, including the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, Robyn’s Nest Rescue, Kyle Adams (canine behavior consultant), Pets In Stitches and many more. There will be raffle baskets, doorprizes and an agility demonstration of Doggie Drill Team. It promises to be a fun and exciting day for all: see you at Indian Riffle Park this Saturday!
mvPTa, a 501©3 charitable organization, is a 100% volunteer organization whose purpose is to visit hospitals, nursing homes and children's programs with therapy trained pets to help make everyone feel better.
There are over 125 active pet therapy teams in the mvPTa. Teams are typically made up of a pet and their owner, (dogs, rabbits, cats, and hand-held pets).
