Beauty Tip- Talk to the Hand

Your hands can say a lot about you and they don’t have to be high maintenance to look nice. In fact, most women need a make-under when it comes to their nails. According to beauty editors, there are a few things that are definitely faux pas when it comes to nails. Let’s start with nail length. Nails should not be more than 1/8 inch long over the fingertip when looking at your palm. Your nail length should not prevent you from performing any function (like flossing your teeth properly!). Long nails are just not attractive, period. French manicures are also out as well as fake nails. The amount of chemicals that you expose yourself to and not to mention how unhealthy fake nails are for the nail itself are reasons enough to ditch them. As far as shape, somewhere between square and oval or “squoval” looks best. Too square nails make the fingers look chubby and of course nails that are too pointed look like claws. Since I don’t live in New Jersey, I guess I can risk saying that nail art is tacky not to mention all the time and money spent. If you wear polish and are over sixteen then neon green, bright blue or funky colors along that line are a no-no. Keep your nails at an appropriate length, the cuticles moisturized and just buff them to a nice shine and that is appropriate for any situation and a lot less maintenance!
